I think the only universal language is love. If everyone speaks this language, the world will become a paradise. In fact, the summary and purpose of the apple project is this sentence.
Unfortunately, the people of the world cannot be happy for various reasons and have a stressful lifestyle. Concepts like smiling, helping others, empathy, respect and love are very rare today.
The goal of me and SKY (Finland’s intercultural community), of which I am a member, is to promote the well-being of the environment, society and humanity. At SKY and Myintegration (via the myintegration.fi website) we want to bring people from different cultures to different activities. The goal is to promote ”sustainable consumption” and ”relevant society” in accordance with the UN’s sustainable development goals.
As a Sky member, we have already started such a project in the city of Jyväskylä, and I wanted to implement such a project in my own city, Hämeenlinna.
I especially want to express that the support given by the city of Hämeenlinna municipality in this project was very important to me, I thank them.
I wonder what kind of projects and activities I can do in the city where I live. I wanted to evaluate the possibilities of Hämeenlinna. I know that a lot of apples grow in Finland. And there are too many apples, especially in the gardens of private houses. I tried to bring together those who want to share their apples from their garden and those who want to receive apples.. Our project lasted a month. As a result, we collected apples from five families and distributed apples to 47 families. We collected and distributed about 500 kg of apples. Some families came to pick apples themselves. There were people from 12 different nationalities sharing and wanting apples (Finns, Iraqis, Somalis, Turks, Syrians, Russians, Estonians, Chinese, Africans, Greeks, Kurds, Afghans)
As a result, it was very important for people to get together, share what they have, make new friendships, give thanks and smile. It was very good for foreigners to socialize and meet locals. The Finnish families who received and gave apples were also very satisfied.
Especially the Finnish families who participated in the project, who gave and bought apples, showed great interest and support. Picking and distributing Apple was just one reason, the important thing was that people rallied around this issue.
It made me very happy that people offered each other something for free, talked, met and started a dialogue. And it was very important for me to be able to put more smiles on people’s faces, even a little, and make them feel the importance of helping each other, and I achieved my goal.
In addition, my purpose was to promote the social and cultural life of Hämeenlinna, the city where I live, to include strangers in life, to bring them together with local people, and I am very happy that I achieved my goal. I hope the new friendships continue. I want to keep this project growing every year.
There are already too many negative situations in the world and we need to support as much as possible the society we live in. We should all strive for the development and happiness of society.
We need to communicate with our environment and socialize if we want to be happy.
If the society we live in, our environment is good and happy, we are just so happy and peaceful.
We should take advantage of the beauty around us and share it. We should not forget that when we share and we become happy when we help.
